Your Valentine’s Day dining options

It’s Valentine’s Day! Time to celebrate love together with that someone special. I hope someone is loving on you today 🙂  And if not, be your own crush!

Now, while we all love gifts and look forward to receiving them, we need just the right setting to make today extra special. You can choose to set up a candle-lit dinner in the house, make it all cozy and intimate. Or you can take your love out to a fine establishment where you can show each other off in romantic bliss! Have you made your reservation yet? Here are 5 restaurants, in different parts of the city, that you should consider:

The Brasserie, Hemingways Nairobi, Karen –  Located at the elegant Hemingways Nairobi in Karen, The Brasserie is a delightful restaurant serving European dishes made from fresh ingredients sourced from Kenyan farms. Its Josper oven, an indoor barbecue, prepares the best steak this side of the city. You can choose to dine inside but with the balmy days we’ve been experiencing why not enjoy and of course al fresco dining. The hotel has a wine cellar that stocks a fine selection of wines and champagnes from all over the world. Gift her a premium bottle of wine, why don’t ya!

Tamambo Restaurant, Tamarind Tree Hotel, Langata – That I love, love, love this restaurant! First time I saw it and I was blown away. Look at the art on the wall! I ate the food and I was sold! Tamambo is located at the Tamarind Tree Hotel in Langata. The hotel is owned by the same people who own the legendary Carnivore Restaurant so the food is delectable! They have a live cooking station where you see the chef prepare your meal. Tamambo has an attractive seating space that extends outdoors, for anyone who prefers alfresco dining. And after the meal why not hang out at the sumptuous Dawa Lounge, a perfect place to steal a kiss or two!

The circular, metallic, decor at the entrance, the quirky light fixtures and the vast outdoor terrace that leads to a well manicured lawn are pretty cool.
